Connections:
-Both are non-human.
-Both have a gemstone in their chest
-Both take on a mentor/guardian role to the main character.
-Both rebel against a tyrannical empire (Diamond Authority / Emperor’s Coven).
-Both tend to be laid-back, nonchalant, joke-cracking, and occasionally immature.
-Both also pull no punches whenever they do get serious.
-Both don’t tend to respect authority (though said authority are on different scales).
-Both had a strained relationship with their sister and did battle with them (Amethyst called Jasper “sis” after she was corrupted and defeated).
-Both have elemental powers to an extent (Amethyst can generate electricity from her whip, Eda can use different kinds of elemental magic).
-Both have transformation-related powers (Amethyst’s shapeshifting and Eda’s demon/harpy form).
-Contrast between Amethyst being considered a “weak” Gem and struggling with that and Eda being considered “the most powerful witch” only for that to be crippled with her curse.
-Both of their shows got canceled because of homophobia.

I'd root for Eda but bet on Amethyst unless Owl House gets some big buffs by the time it's over.
