This is an upgrade to my earlier version of a fan blower box. I used mine to cool the heat sink on our solar inverter. It is now available on Thingiverse (link in description). This redesigned 3D-printable blower box keeps the same compact footprint but is slightly shorter, still using the popular 80mm (3 1/8") fan. Depending on the fan’s rating—from 0.1A to about 1A, you can get anything from a gentle breeze to strong airflow for your DIY electronics projects, cooling enclosures, or custom builds. The biggest improvement is the optimized air outlet design, which allows air to flow more freely and distribute better. You’ll need to supply your own voltage regulation, temperature control, and safety features like fuses to protect the plastic housing. Whether you’re working on electronics cooling, workbench ventilation, or small-scale air handling, this improved version is more efficient and versatile than the original. Perfect for makers, tinkerers, and hobbyists looking to integrate a reliable, customizable blower into their projects.
