A-Channel News Now report covering the grand opening of "Famous Players Paramount" movie theatre at Calgary's Chinook mall on March 23, 2001. It included 16 screens including a new IMAX 3D theatre.
The theatre was designed with an Egyptian motif, including hieroglyphics, scarabs, snakes and a giant sphinx that shot lasers from it's eyes during a light-show that ran every half-hour on weekends.
In 2008 it was re-named Scotiabank Theatre Chinook, operated by Cineplex (who bought Famous Players in 2005).
A-Channel was a Canadian television system that ran from 1997-2005.
