As part of The Plinth, we are running weekly virtual workshops. Every Saturday morning we are sharing a new artist-led workshop to help you and your family to get creative and make something to display on a plinth.
In this workshop, artist and educator Coral Brookes invites you to explore the plinth as a misbehaving monument. Monuments are sites for sculpture which mark a particular time, story or moment, they are often grand in scale and quite serious.
This workshop invites you to create a sculptural object from clay, recycled materials and everyday objects that will become a misbehaving monument. With different young people connecting on this project, the monument will act as a shape shifting site of exchange that hosts and shares experiences through sculpture and experimental making.
