Checking out a cheap acrylic snare drum from MusicStore.de, a Fame 14" x 5.5" acrylic snare drum. Costs: € 89 (or $123).
Seamless shell, around 6 mm thickness. Tested with stock heads, tuned around 204 Hz (3G to 3G# note).
One remark: I noticed some chipping of the black hoops after just taking them off and remounting and also the inside finish of the strainer was pretty rough although it works pretty smoothly. The shell seams pretty flawless though.
Switch to HD for the best audio quality.
