Today I've got 6 locations that are great for farming wood. Probably one or two you didn't know were good for wood farming.
Picking up a couple of extra items along the way, you can easily server-hop this route and run as many times as you need.
If you only need a little wood for a daily or something like that, choose one of the locations from the timestamps below. They're all good for that.
*** UPDATE ***
Note that the Middle Mountain Cabins have received an overhaul to add content for the Blue Ridge Caravan. Unfortunately, this makes it significantly less valuable for gathering wood.
