This is a fairly long side quest that culminates in a bobblehead and your own room in Vault 81. It's not overly difficult, but I'd recommend using a gun with decent stopping power against the mole rat den mothers you'll run into (especially since one of them may be a glowing one like it was for me). They can hurt a bit, but the regular mole rats pretty much just tickle at this point if you've been upgrading correctly and around about level 24 or 25 like I was when I got here. You'll fight your way through discovering the story along the way. Below I'll list the basic idea of the story, but if you don't want to read it, then don't read anything under the spoiler tag.

Good luck!

** SPOILERS **

So basically Vault 81 was meant to breed superior humans over time who are immune to disease and sickness. There was a team of scientists that were to administer various diseases to the vault dwellers and introduce antibodies afterwards. They would do this through experimentation on genetically altered mole rats that had all kinds of nasty diseases. The vault overseer felt bad about this and sabotaged the phone records, but 3 scientists still managed to show up. In order to prevent experimentation on the vault dwellers, the overseer sabotaged the delivery system for "mist" that would make the vault dwellers sick and basically left the scientists to live (or not live) out their lives stuck in their confinement.

The scientists continued to work on creating a cure to various diseases through experimentation on the mole rats. They took their Mr. Handy, gave it a personality, and altered it to continue their research when they passed on. At some point the mole rats got out of their confinement and proceeded to wreck havoc on the scientists. They didn't survive. One of them had already died of old age apparently by this point and was cremated.

The Mr.Handy, now known as Curie, continued their work and managed to create a cure for virtually any sickness on the planet. Unfortunately only one vial managed to survive the 160 so years until the vault dweller comes to retrieve it. At this point you can either chose to give it to the sick kid or keep it for yourself. You have the option of giving half of it to the kid and keeping the other half for yourself as well. I gave it to the kid who makes a full recovery. Overall, it's one of the more interesting vault stories and considerably more believable than those in Fallout 3. I really enjoyed it.
