Tested May 24th 2016. Once you have dropped the items you wish to duplicate go into workshop mode, highlight the item and very quickly press X, A, B to perform the glitch. If it has worked you will get the scrapping sound but it will ask if you want to store the item in the workbench, it has only worked if you hear the 'scrapping' sound. The way I find is easiest is to turn the controller upside down and using my 3rd finger, middle finger and index finger, hit the buttons in sequence like a keyboard. Another method is to rub your thumb over the buttons in the correct order. X, A, B on Xbox 1, SQUARE, X, CIRCLE on PS4.
DON'T TRY AND DUPLICATE TO MUCH AT ONCE. You may crash your game and risk corrupting your saves. I have never lost a save doing this but my game has crashed after trying to dupe more than 25,000 of an item at one time. Its best to stick to duping the amount you need, its easy enough to do again whenever you need more.
