In this video, I take you on a journey through my 3D printing adventure, as I tackle the massive task of creating a five-foot-long articulated model of Falcor from 'The NeverEnding Story.' I'll share my personal experiences, including the challenges I faced and the adjustments I had to make along the way. From dealing with technical difficulties with printing materials to equipment failures and software issues, it was quite a ride.
You'll hear all about my transition from using PETG and PLA filaments to finally achieving success with a rainbow silk PLA filament, and I'll highlight the intricacies of working with different materials and the necessary adjustments for successful prints. I'll also touch on how this project was inspired by suggestions from our amazing viewers, showcasing the power of community engagement. Despite the numerous hurdles, I'm thrilled to present the completed five-foot articulated Falcor model, and while I'm satisfied with the outcome, I'll share why I won't be attempting such large-scale prints again due to the demanding nature of the process.
