Core values only build trust when they're reflected in everyday decisions. A company that claims to be "people first" but consistently acts otherwise creates a gap between its messaging and reality.

That disconnect weakens credibility with employees, leaders, and candidates. Organizations don't have to share the same priorities, but they do need to be honest about them. Clear alignment between stated values and actual behavior is what creates trust over time.
