I’ve intended for a very long time to cut an essay on parasocial relationships. After researching the subject on and off for months I realized I would either have to put together something very, very, long and dense even by my standards OR split it up into smaller parts. I feel like this is a subject that benefits from being split up into distinct sections so here is part one of a four-part series on parasocial relationships. An overwhelming amount of academic research has been done on this subject so I might end up making more than four videos depending on what I find, but for now four is a conservative estimate in the interest of not spreading the information too thin.
