Originals of these French "Sabre de marin de la garde imperiale" sell for 2000-4000USD. Reproductions can be bought for around 250USD. As a result, fakes are common, like the one we're looking at today.
Note: I may have mistakenly referred to the reproductions by Weapons Edge and Universal Swords as fakes, instead of reproductions. This was simply an error during recording.
The artificial is what makes it a fake. The reproductions by WE/US are simply fairly honest copies.
