Hey everyone, this week we're reading pages 21-45 (roughly) of Part 1 from Ray Bradbury's classic Fahrenheit 451! In today's reading we meet the mechanical hounds, have some more interesting conversations with Montag's neighbor Clarisse - and I talk about some of the themes and questions I have about this section of the book: what happens when a society loses it's empathy, gas lighting, and denying real history - you know, light-hearted, easy topics to talk about...
The views expressed in the video are my own, and they reflect what I am learning and thinking about concerning the issues that Bradbury brings up in the book. I readily admit that these are issues that I am still thinking through and as such my thoughts and views may change as I grow and learn.
Also, there is a revised reading schedule!! I'm hoping I don't have any more computer problems. I'll also be taking some vacation this summer, so I thought I would give us a couple of weeks of a break there. Thank you all for reading along with me, and let me know in the comments what you are thinking of the book so far!
