The Elves of Cormanthyr campaign takes a dramatic turn in Episode 5! After encountering a game-breaking revolt bug that forced me to modify the campaign_db.xml files to completely disable the broken revolt system, we are back from scratch for a massive playtest.
After auto-winning the initial siege at Dunkapple Castle and manually resolving an unrecorded sally out at Dragonspear Castle, we were marching toward Gwarch when disaster struck. The neutral Duchy of Baldur's Gate launched a massive ambush against our forces, triggering an all-out war!
This action-packed, 7-hour marathon features non-stop tactical battles against Baldur's Gate. You'll see:
The Ambush & The March on the Capital: Defeating a full stack led by two Balduran generals and pushing straight to besiege and capture the capital city of Baldur's Gate itself!
The First Elven Fleet: Utilizing our newly conquered coastal capital to construct our very first fleet of legendary Elven Wingships.
The Meatgrinder: Watch our second army win battle after battle until they are finally overwhelmed and forced to retreat to Evereska.
A Harsh Lesson in Quality vs. Quantity: In the final massive clash, a fresh, full stack of our basic Akh Velarn Spears, Swords, and Archers—alongside a few elite Akh Velarn Protectors—faces off against the heavily armored Flaming Fist Enforcers and Flaming Fist Crossbowmen. Can basic Elven troops hold the line against the finest heavy infantry of the Duchy, or will the lack of elite units doom the army?
Out of multiple high-stakes battles, Baldur's Gate managed to claim two victories, while we secured the rest. We leave off right on the eve of the next major engagement!
