If you’ve never taken a look at the free and open source software Blender before, maybe it’s time you did. Blender is 3d design and animation software that you can use for creative storytelling, but its toolset is so expansive that you can easily go so much further with it. You can use it for CAD and 3d design for 3d printing - or you can use it to visualize your designs to show them to clients. Or you can use your existing design skills in a whole new creative field.
Blender has a reputation for being impossible to learn, but that reputation has been overstated in the last few years. With the recent release of Blender 4.0 it’s more accessible than ever before, and more powerful. Heck, I created the outro for this video in Blender after a few hours of following simple tutorials.
