This year, HRF asked human rights defenders, entrepreneurs, and dissidents worldwide a simple question: “What can Bitcoin do that traditional currencies cannot?”

The result is a powerful video featuring voices from individuals in Nicaragua, Iraq, Kenya, and beyond—individuals whose lives are shaped by censorship, extreme inflation, and financial isolation. Through their eyes we see why Bitcoin matters. Contrary to what prominent figures in the West say, it’s not just a speculative asset but a tool that enables people to spend, save, and invest without permission or censorship.
