Day 5 after my facelift felt a lot like Day 4. Healing is happening, but itās quiet, slow, and mostly invisible. The swelling is still present, the tightness hasnāt gone anywhere, and patience is doing most of the heavy lifting right now.
In this video, Iām sharing what Day 5 of facelift recovery actually looks like when thereās no big change to report. How my face feels, how Iām moving through the day, whatās helping, and what still feels frustrating. If youāre researching facelift recovery, this is the stretch that often gets skipped, even though itās very real.
About my facelift journey (for context):
Iām 52 and Iāve lost about 120 pounds over the last few years, which left me with significant loose skin on my face and neck. This was something I thought about for a long time, researched carefully, and chose to do when the timing felt right.
I chose Dr. Paige Kennedy in Lafayette, Louisiana, through Hubbell Dermatology.
My procedures included a facelift, neck lift, upper blepharoplasty (lid lift), a lower lid pinch, fat grafting from the stomach to the temples and under eyes, earlobe reduction, and salivary gland reduction to improve jawline definition. The total cost was in the low five figures, which I share to help answer common questions and set realistic expectations.
Each video in this facelift recovery series stands on its own, so you donāt need to watch them in order. If you want to follow along through Week 1, Week 2, and beyond, make sure youāre subscribed and feel free to leave questions in the comments.
