I started planning to make these back in the spring when the Wonderland Flannel Substrates were announced by Tim Holtz and FreeSpirit Fabrics. With this idea in mind, I started collecting vintage peppermint tins to use. As they were delivered throughout the spring and summer I started to get more and more excited about this make.
WARNING: If you are a quilter, my reveal of the peppermint stripes that I sewed together may drive you insane bc the lettering is crooked and the stripes aren't straight. So just fair warning ahead of time for folks that actually sew...although if you actually sew you probably aren't watching my fabric tutorials! LOL! But just in case you accidentally found this tutorial this is my disclaimer is here and a reminder that I am the crafty fabric maker, not the sewing fabric maker, so my sewing is just to show the non-sewers that it's ok, it doesn't have to be perfect to end up being a fun, cute project. the goal is to enjoy the process. So whatever kind of sewer you are, have FUN, and don't stress about the details IF that robs you of the joy of making. You do YOU! :-)
