FAA Drone Registration was announced this morning, Monday the 14th of December 2015. Check out the FAA website for more info: faa.gov/uas/registration/faqs

Some points I didn't cover in the video:
- Registration is free in the first 30 days. After that, the fee will be $5.
- You can register multiple drone at once for $5 total. No need to register each drone individually, if you own multiple.
- Businesses still need to register using the paper method.
- You probably only need to register if you intend to fly your drone. I can't imagine storing a drone being illegal.
- The FAA recommends calling the police if a drone crashes in your yard, but doesn't mention consequences. Probably a good idea to get permission before flying over someone's property, in case you crash. Consequences unknown.
