🔥 F-150 Ford Raptor Power Side Steps + Custom LED Lighting!
In this episode, we take the Ford F-150 Raptor power side steps to the next level by customizing the AMP Research Smart Steps with upgraded LED lighting and reverse lights.
The goal is to make the power steps more functional while giving the Raptor a much more aggressive look at night. We modify the Smart Step lighting system to control a more powerful LED strip light and reverse lights through the app.

The factory Smart Step lighting setup can be customized to run a more robust lighting system.
In this video, we show how we modified the AMP Research Smart Steps so the lighting can control a more powerful LED strip as well as additional reverse lighting.
Because the upgraded lights draw more power, the setup requires relays to properly control the lighting circuit.
⚡ Relay Wiring Explained
One of the most important parts of this modification is the wiring.
We walk through the relay wiring setup and explain how the relays are used to allow the Smart Step system to control the upgraded lights without putting unnecessary load through the original circuit.
If you're planning a similar modification, make sure you understand your vehicle's electrical system and use properly rated wiring, fuses, and relays for your specific setup.
🔦 Custom Reverse Lights
We also integrate reverse lights into the setup, giving the rear of the truck additional illumination when backing up.
