This is an experiment of sorts.
All characters are puppets in their own ways. We force them through trauma and force them to hurt each other and go through terrible things. As well as good things. They would not exist without us but their existence sometimes can come with a price.
That's generally what this animation meme is about.
As for the specifics. It focuses on Lightning and Star's relationship, as well as Spirit and Cedric's relationship. Star and Lightning struggling with their friendship because of what happens to Star, as well as the friendship between Cedric and Spirit, and what happens when Cedric leaves, and how Spirit snaps after he does.
