LEGO GBC - Gear Rack Elevator mickthebricker 2023-11-17 | LEGO GBC Module "Gear Rack Elevator", idea and original design 10/2023 by mickthebricker.--The Gear Rack Elevator is a GBC module that transports balls upwards and is run by a mechanism containing gears and gear racks. It contains a non-motorized stepper for portioning the incoming balls so that six to seven balls are fed into the elevator. In addition, portioning prevents overloading. The balls are transported upwards in the elevator and then reach another (motorized) stepper, which then transports them to the output. This is not open (as usual in most modules), but the balls leave the module hidden at a height of approximately twelve bricks. The pure architectural design with ribbon window elements provide a clear view of both the mechanism and the ball flow inside the pump.Most splitting mechanisms use gravitiy to split flows in a downward movement of the balls (balls fall or roll down, e.g. on a seesaw or switch).
