[080] Kwikset SmartKey Padlock Picked and Rekeyed Ith Bombgard 2017-06-13 | I pick and rekey my Kwikset SmartKey padlock so I can send it out to someone that's been wanting to pick at one. I try to send keys with the locks I send out whenever possible. I figured the process may make an interesting video. Some people have said they get spool type feedback on their SmartKey locks, and others have not. I definitely want to get my hands on a few more to see how they compare.

It didn't matter if it was picked to control or operating, it would not open. What best way to remove the core when the lock won't open? You heat it up to a few thousand degrees to melt all the brass out of the core so you can manually acuate it and open it of course! [072] Evr- Mk3 Challenge Lock with Incredible Surprise Pins! Ith Bombgard 2017-05-14 | It is a good thing I didn't try to gut this normally. Trying to use a follower does not work with this lock. Wow. Such a great lock - I can't get over the pins. This definitely gave me a run for my money. I unfortunately lost the key (blaming my daughter at this time) and am hand cutting a new one before re-assembly. Thanks again Evr-! AMAZING.
[071] Lock Burn! Two Master Locks vs 2200 Degree Furnace Ith Bombgard 2017-04-29 | I took a Master 140 and a Master #3 and put them in my furnace. As expected the only metal left was the hardened steel parts. This isn't the best quality as it was chilly and snowing a bit, and I was limited on time, but it was still fun. I may put other lock in there in the future, but this one was for Supallama. :)

I have picked this one many times just because it was so fun. The gutting was a littlle wonky, but that was due to some of the drivers falling back down into the plug (you'll be able to see that when I start gutting), but overall a fantastic challenge lock and a lot of fun. [064] Forgotten Battalion 5 pin Padlock OOP picked Ith Bombgard 2017-03-23 | I had forgotten that I had purchased this lock a while ago until I stumbled upon it while looking for something else. Well, why not try to pick it right out of the package? It is kind of a cool little lock. Quite crunchy in the pins - not sure if that's from poor milling\manufacturing or serrated pins. I felt a few in there I think, but it was hard to get much out of it.

[059] 6 Laminated Paclock (PL3) locks OOP pick Ith Bombgard 2016-06-08 | I got some Pacific Lock PL3 padlocks all keyed different. I had heard from a friend that they were frustrating little guys, so I thought I would pick a box of them to see what they were like.I think I see why they are no longer made. As you can see in the video some pick very well, while others demonstrate peculiar behavior like picking open then seizing so you cannot turn the plug, or all pins feeling like they are all binding. Using the key or raking across the pins (without tension) seemed to free things up enough to pick normally on the second or third try.I think that some of the issues also have to do with how they were stored (of just the fact they were stored) has to do with the strange behaviors. I also bet that some lube would straighten them right out. I have 3 more boxes of 6 so I may just pick them all on camera and see how it goes. :)Stick it and pick it!

It is master keyed and I had never gutted one before. I bought them to be used, but will now be replacing them with some others as I repin these (now that I know whats inside). I filmed this in a spare office at work after too much coffee, so hopefully I wasn't shaking too badly. HAHA!

I have never even attempted to take a dimple lock apart let alone one that has pins on wither side of the plug. Wow. It did not end well. Haha! Picked pretty well, gutted poorly. It may have helped if I had a plug follower instead of some sticky notes. I have made a nice follower with some cuts in it to allow me to disassemble and reassemble this lock and ones like it quite easily. I'll be sure to post something about it.

[051] N.Y.C.H.A. Abus 34/55 SPP and Gutted Ith Bombgard 2016-01-11 | Really nice Abus picked and gutted. This was the hardest and most frustrating Abus I've picked so far. This is a great lock. Heavy, but fun to pick. I used my vise on it for a while, but I didn't feel like I could feel much from the lock compared to when I held it in my hand. It is not a fun lock without a vise on marathon picks, that's for sure. Haha!

I knew some things were serrated, but I wasn't quite expecting what I found. Awesome pins. Haha! The plug chambers for the corresponding serrated pins were also serrated\tapped. Fun lock!

[043] Reddit Contest 001 - ith Creative Open Ith Bombgard 2015-11-11 | Part of the recent /r/lockpicking subreddit contest was creative opening. The rule is no destructive opening and the lock must still function afterwards. This is my creative opening for the provided Master #3 Commercial we all used (keyed alike).This opening here was the third successful open using this method. The first attempt to get it on camera was a flop - it didn't open and I beat the hell out of it. It total I beat the piss out of this thing 4 times, and it opened for me 3 of those 4. The lock still works and when SPP the thing now, I still have to pick all four pins. The key\keyway no longer returns to the 'locked' position after closing the shackle, but considering what I did to it, I am OK with that.
[044] 5-Pin U-Haul SPP out of package (successful pick starts at 5:20) Ith Bombgard 2015-11-03 | This lock was crunchy and I had to go through a few tension wrenches and a few picks before I found what worked well. It was picked using a homemade tension wrench and a Sparrows standard hook. The final picking order was basically front to back, but I did set a few pins on my way to the front. The serrated pins threw me off a bit. Overall a really fun lock to pick!

[037] Pocket knife wafer picking Ith Bombgard 2015-10-21 | I had a bathroom emergency, and the toilet paper dispenser had the paper stuck up inside and I could not retrieve it. I used a pocket knife to open it up and save my ass, literally. The topic of using a pocket knife as a pick came up and I knew it was possible, so I filmed me opening it again. I know the facilities manager for the building and has permission to play, and the manager and they thought the video was funny even said it was good to know in case he has the same problem some time.
