Officers located a woman across the street, who matched a description given by the original caller. A man, later identified as 48-year-old of Florida, was also on the scene and he began to obstruct the investigation. Francis was asked to move away from the officers. He continued to be disruptive and when he was told he was going to be issued a summons, he got on an electric motorcycle nearby. He was told to get off the bike and he continued to be uncooperative. Francis was arrested and transported to Hoboken Police Headquarters. United States of Police 2025-07-30 | The Hoboken Police Department announces the arrest of 31-year-old Jacquez McCall of Paterson, 30-year-old Sean Miller of East Stroudsburg, PA, and 26-year-old Abdoul Toure of New York City, in connection with the unlawful use of a stolen postal service key. The arrests come as part of a coordinated operation with the U.S. Postal Inspection Service.On Jan. 19, 2025, at approximately 2:30 a.m., Hoboken Police officers responded to reports of someone trying to open a U.S. Postal Service mailbox near the intersection of Seventh Street and Willow Avenue. When officers arrived, they saw Toure leaving the area and getting into a vehicle, which was subsequently pulled over. All three men were inside.Upon further investigation, officers discovered nine stolen credit cards in a pocket on the front passenger side door, as well as two bags filled with envelopes and documents containing various names and addresses. A stack of checks for various amounts was also found in the glove compartment.McCall, Miller, and Toure were arrested and transported to Hoboken Police Headquarters where they were charged with burglary, theft of movable property, conspiracy to commit burglary, credit card theft, receiving stolen property, and criminal attempt. Camping out on a Cop car is Never a Good Idea! United States of Police 2025-03-02 | On January 27, 2025, at approximately 11:05 p.m., a Hoboken Police Officer responded to the area of Washington Street and Eighth Street on reports of a man standing on top of a vehicle while vomiting. When he arrived a man jumped onto the hood of the officer’s patrol car. The man, later identified as a 44-year-old of Hoboken, was told multiple times to get off the patrol car but refused. Several other officers arrived on the scene to assist. The suspect was removed from the hood of the car while screaming and kicking his legs, which he continued to do during a search incident to arrest. As officers attempted to put him in a patrol car, the man extended his legs in the hinges of the door, to keep himself from being placed in the car. He was eventually secured and transported to an area hospital. During transport he began kicking the windows and hitting his head into the plexiglass window separating the front and back seats. He continued to kick and then tried to bite officers at the hospital. He was charged with aggravated assault, interference with transport, resisting arrest, criminal mischief, and disorderly person. United States of Police 2025-03-01 | On January 16, 2025, at approximately 11:50 a.m., Hoboken Police Officers responded to Acme, 614 Clinton St., on reports of a man refusing to leave. By the time they arrived, employees told them the man had left, taking a candy bar and drink he did not pay for. Store employees did not want to file a complaint, but did ask officers to tell the actor he was no longer allowed in the store. Officers located a man who fit the description near the intersection of Clinton and Seventh Streets. He gave officers a fake name but was later identified as 38-year-old Jose Rosario of Jersey City. While talking to officers Rosario kept spitting in different directions and when they asked him to stop, he intentionally spat into an officer's face. Rosario was placed under arrest and continued to spit in the direction of officers, while attempting to resist arrest a Sargeant was also on the scene and assisted in getting Rosario into the patrol car. He was transported to Hoboken Police Headquarters. During transport he kept spitting in the back seat and once at headquarters, he refused to be fingerprinted and photographed. During processing, he threatened to slash and kill officers. He was charged with hindering, aggravated assault by throwing bodily fluids/spitting, refusing to be fingerprinted, and making terrorist threats against law enforcement. School Bus Driver Drives Drunk with 27 kids on Board United States of Police 2025-02-16 | NEWTON, NJ (Sussex County) — A school bus driver who was found guilty of 27 counts of child endangerment for operating a school bus while intoxicated in Sussex County last year has been sentenced to 14 years in state prison, according to Acting Sussex County Prosecutor Carolyn A. Murray.Colleen M. Eutermarks was sentenced on June 6 before Superior Court Judge Michael C. Gaus to a 14 year term of incarceration in New Jersey State Prison. She was also given a lifetime forfeiture of her commercial driver’s license, Murray said.On Jan. 28, 2022, Eutermarks was observed operating a full-sized yellow school bus erratically on County Road 565 in Frankford Township and was eventually stopped by the New Jersey State Police, Murray said.Upon contact with Eutermarks, troopers determined that she displayed various signs of impairment. Subsequently thereafter, it was determined that she was under the influence of alcohol and was subsequently arrested, Murray said.At the NJ State Police Barracks, she provided a breath sample indicating that her blood alcohol content (BAC) was .34 which was over 8 times the legal limit of .04 BAC as permitted for a person to operate a commercial vehicle such as a bus, Murray said.Upon further investigation by the New Jersey State Police, it was determined that Eutermarks had picked up students from both Wallkill Regional High School and Franklin Elementary School while operating the bus intoxicated. He doesnt know English, but He knows how to STEAL United States of Police 2024-10-20 | On July 25, 2024, at approximately 12:40 a.m., Hoboken Police Officers were in the area of the 900 block of Garden Street when they observed a man acting suspiciously while standing in front of a mailbox. When they circled back around the area, the man was gone, but they found a thin black belt wrapped with black electrical tape and sticky residue on it inserted into the mailbox. This is how “mail phishing” is done, which is a tactic to steal mail out of mailboxes. The officers searched the area for the actor they’d observed earlier and found him lying underneath a parked car on the 800 block of Garden Street. Officers noticed he was not wearing a belt and was struggling to walk due to his pants falling. At this point more officers arrived on the scene. The man, later identified as a 22-year-old of The Bronx, New York was arrested. Driving the Wrong Way Down a One Way is NEVER a Good Idea! United States of Police 2024-08-09 | On June 1, 2024, at approximately 3:10 a.m., Police Officers Daniela Simone and Shawn Sodora were in the area of Newark and Hudson Streets when they saw a car driving the wrong way on a one-way road. They pulled the vehicle over and when they approached the driver, later identified as 23-year-old Joseph Orsita of Bloomfield, the odor of an alcoholic beverage was emanating from his breath, he had blood shot eyes, and his speech was slow. When asked, he gave officers an old version of his paperwork. A standard field sobriety test was performed, after which Orsita was arrested for driving while intoxicated and transported to Hoboken Police Headquarters where he refused to take a breath test. He was issued a summons for refusal to provide breath samples, refusing to take a breath test, driving while intoxicated, and driving the wrong way on a one-way street. Saverio Binetti and Police Officers Michael Aviles and Jessica Pizane responded to the 1000 block of Washington Street on reports of man, later identified as 43-year-old James Ventre, of North Bergen, causing a nuisance in an establishment that had a restraining order against him. Ventre was stopped and questioned on the 900 block of Washington Street. He was found to have an outstanding warrant out of Easton, PA. Fake Thug gets Reality Check United States of Police 2024-07-06 | On May 23, 2024 Hoboken Police Officers responded to Mamoun's Falafel, 300 Washington St., on reports of a man screaming at employees and customers inside. When they arrived, they saw the man, standing about 20 feet from the entrance screaming profanities. The officers escorted the man out of the restaurant, and he became agitated and began to yell at the officers. A third officer arrived on the scene. The gentleman continued to yell at officers, using vulgar and offensive language and refused to listen to the officers. He was placed under arrest for disorderly conduct and transported to Hoboken Police Headquarters.
