Options for demodex blepharitis treatment are improving. The three common options discussed in this video are just a few of the options available right now. With increasing age, about 100% of people with have demodex living on their face and eyelids. Among the 65 species of demodex, 2 are commonly found on the face and eyelid skin; demodex folliculorum and demodex brevis. These face and eyelid mites can cause a lot of issues and problems if they grow out of control. They have been linked to rosacea, ocular rosacea, blepharitis, puffy eyelids, dry eyes, and more. Among the people that have blepharitis, nearly 7 out of 10 of those cases, are caused by demodex, called demodex blepharitis.
