Costa Rica snakes are some of the most incredible reptiles on the planet, and in this video, we're going on a deep-dive herping adventure to find them! Join me as we explore the lush, rainy jungles of Costa Rica to track down beautiful and elusive species during the start of the rainy season.
In this video, we track down a stunning "friendly" little Eyelash Viper (who I’ve named Billie!) and see if he’s still hanging out in his favorite spot. We also encounter a true rarity: the Slender Orange-Ringed Snail Eater (Sibon dimidiatus*). After 15 years of never seeing one on the property, we find two in a single trip!
From the camouflaged Blunt-headed Tree Snakes and Ornate Cat-eye Snakes to the vibrant Basilisk lizards and Gladiator Tree Frogs, the biodiversity is off the charts. We even get a look at some incredible Orchid Bees in slow motion.
