A former White House aide has claimed Melania Trump has been checked out of her duties as First Lady for years. Allegedly, she soured on the role during Donald Trump’s first term in office. Former deputy press secretary Sarah Matthews revealed she never met Melania during the president's first term. Matthews worked at the White House from 2017 through 2021, interacting with many other Trump family members. She noted that it was known Melania was just not around and didn’t want to be involved. Matthews claimed Melania hated living in the White House, preferring her life in New York’s Trump Tower.
