We are asked to get the video files on the hard disk of a Sony model RDR-HXD995 DVD/HDD recorder, which is apparently similar to a Pioneer. We use Isobuster software for this job, with some extra help from Windows and Freemake Video Converter.
Here's an always up to date list of recorders where IsoBuster is able to see the individual recordings:

The cheapest Isobuster version [Personal] supports extraction from recorder HDDs. Though businesses have to get the [Professional] version.
