Ferry flight in the 5g Aviation Extra 300, from John Wayne Airport (SNA) to the Mojave Airport (MHV).
The weather was pretty grey down in Orange County, which meant another chance to learn about predicting the location of holes in the marine layer, and Mojave was gnarly windy. The result was a chance to do a lot of the "pilot stuff", fly an awesome airplane, and even got to go upside down. Totally awesome!!
The flight went by some places that are special for me. As an airplane dork, Edwards Air Force Base is a big deal I think for all of us (as seen in "The Right Stuff"). And Mojave will always be a special place for me (as seen in "Black Sky").
