William Grant Still’s complete Wood Notes was once thought to be lost to history, but through the work of Principal Librarian and former Assistant Conductor Austin Chanu, a newly restored edition of the piece will be heard in Marian Anderson Hall and Carnegie Hall for the first time this weekend. Ahead of the performances, Music and Artistic Director Yannick Nézet-Séguin sat down with Nicole and Austin to talk about their discoveries through this process, and how they tracked down the unpublished fifth movement at the Library of Congress.
