What practical benefits do Vertical Crop and FOV Zoom provide in VR racing?
In this video, we revisit two Dream Air visual optimization features available through SBoys3's Custom Headset software. Following Martin's previous introduction to Vertical Crop, we wanted to answer a common question from the community: how well does it work on the kind of hardware most sim racers actually use?
Using an RTX 4070 and Assetto Corsa, we evaluate the real-world impact of Vertical Crop on performance, frame rate stability, and overall driving experience. We also take a closer look at FOV Zoom and explore how it affects cockpit visibility, mirror awareness, and peripheral vision during racing.
Rather than focusing on synthetic benchmarks, this video examines how these features perform in practical sim racing scenarios and whether they can provide meaningful advantages for everyday VR users.
