Dr. Peter de Menocal is a paleoclimatologist and oceanographer with a passion for understanding the ocean and Earth’s past climate and for applying that knowledge to the sustainability of human society within the boundaries of the planet’s natural systems. He currently serves as the 11th President and Director of the Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution, the largest private non-profit devoted to understanding the global ocean through world-class science and innovative technical development.
