Friar Tick Inn, a very disappointing hotel but it sure was a huge hotel! It had everything from a hair salon to a weight room to multiple pools (indoor and outdoor). If you have approximately $12M, you can purchase this "beautiful" facility! This 200-acre resort which opened its doors around the 1970's, closed its doors in 2010 after filing for bankruptcy (wow shocker). When walking through the place, you can see how mediocre the rooms were and also while looking at some safety procedures, it sure wasn't up to code. For example, the fire sprinklers that were located in the kitchen were installed incorrectly... I wonder how they passed a final inspection with that... The one good feature about this hotel was its medieval look, which can be seen from the cover photo of this video. This property IS watched and whoever is watching, lives on the property, and also there is a small community behind this hotel which residents pass through daily. Definitely a cool little spot to visit while taking a trip to the Catskills...
