Calstock Village Walk – Riverside Streets & Historic Cornish Charm
A peaceful and atmospheric wander through Calstock, a riverside village tucked along the Tamar in Cornwall. With its steep streets, old stone cottages, and views across the tidal river, Calstock blends Cornish charm with a touch of history at every corner. Quiet lanes, gentle waters, and the distant hum of village life make it an ideal walk for slowing down and taking in the landscape.

Calstock’s setting is striking: perched on a hillside above the River Tamar, the village was historically a hub for trade, mining, and river transport. Old quays and slipways hint at a past dominated by boats carrying tin, copper, and clay from nearby mines, while the river itself remains a tranquil artery for small craft today.
Stone cottages cling to the hillside, many dating back centuries, with slate roofs and weathered walls that echo generations of Cornish life.
