On our way to the abandoned youth camp houses--deep in the Georgia woods, American Explorer and I stopped at a church and graveyard to take a quick look around. The church was built in 1975 to replace a much older church in a tiny town nearby. There are currently no traces of the original church and the town it resided in. The church is still in use for services 1-2 times a month--and is always open. It is just one simple room, no electricity--and outhouses out back. The adjacent graveyard predates the church back to the late 1800's. Hard to believe there is still a place like this in operation--it definitely took me back to a simpler time...
