In this episode, we're exploring an abandoned paper mill in a small town in North Carolina. Champion Papers opened in 1908 and was responsible for the growth of the town around it. The plant closed in 2023 and soon after, hurricane Helene flooded the region. Demolition is now in progress for a future redevelopment of the site.
