Late last year, a new network of trails opened to the public at the San Vicente Redwoods in the Santa Cruz Mountains. This new access is the culmination of a long path that brought together the League, Sempervirens Fund and Peninsula Open Space Trust to protect the redwood landscape, and then subsequently partner with the Land Trust of Santa Cruz County to make it available to the public. The 7+ miles of new trails are the first phase of a proposed 38-mile trail system offering ocean views and a forest in recovery from logging and the CZU wildfire.
