With the Varanasi District Court allowing prayers in the basement of the Gyanvapi Masjid - the locks have literally come off and this could be the start of something really big. While demands to 'hand over' Gyanvapi have increased - there is something big standing in the way. The Places of Worship Act, 1991... that disallows the conversion / distructioin of any religious place.

What will happen next? Will this act be delolished itself? A lot depends on how this act is read by the Supreme Court of India.....Here's more on the law that will determine the future politics of India.
