Jack is a young organic tillage farmer farming near Tullow, Co. Carlow
He participated in an EIP (European Innovation Partnership) several years ago that saw him plant rows of trees into his tillage field.
This system is known as a silvo-arable farm and is a type of agroforestry.
Jack is experimenting with a low-input, high-output trees including fruit, nut and timber species. All the while, he can sow and harvest his organic tillage crops as normal.
