Can Pie predict the future? Or is Alex (Exurb1a) still playing synchronicity mind games with her, after 9 years? Maybe the universe is involved, revealing a strange cosmic connection between these two artists. But if so, why? Maybe because a British YouTuber still hasn’t found the courage to personally ask a Dutch poet (Pieke Roelofs) to forgive him.
This is episode 3 on the Exurb1a documentary ‘Experiment A’ that revolves around odd coincidences that keep piling up around an autistic woman who since 2016 got lost in a web of manipulation. Which coincidences are real, and which ones are manufactured? I’ll let you decide.
I will reveal sweet as well as damning Whatsapp audio messages Exurb1a sent to Pie in 2016 that were never released until now, and speak with journalist Vivek Rajkhowa about the controversy, who shares what he found in his investigation about the many lies Alex told Pie: claims to CERN, Stephen Fry collaborations and PhD fantasies. Rajkhowa also points out a pattern in the women Alex seeks out: creative, vulnerable women.
It seems that even now, when Pie moves, Exurb1a moves. I uncover a timeline of metaphors and allegories hidden in his videos ‘Dear Nia’ and ‘Losing You’ that point back to her and his experiment. Have you noticed more clues in his videos? Let me know in the comments.
In her poem ‘Slow Death’ and video ‘Dear Soren’ (2021) Pie wished for a universe where Alex would ask her for forgiveness. It seems he’s finally done it in 2025 via a covert confession and apology video called ‘Losing You’. After what is described in the video as ‘accusations’ and ‘a long silence’, he says it’s ‘all his fault’ and hints at being unable to forgive himself - while still hiding behind the Exurb1a mask.
Is Exurb1a’s ‘Losing You’ just another game in his world-building where he’s playing out Pie’s work? Is Alex seeking a fake redemption arc, trying to rewrite the narrative? Or does he really feel remorse and still love Pie? An old friend of Exurb1a went on the record and revealed what he said according to them - turning this story about love and betrayal upside down.
And Alex? I’ll let him tell part of this story: via (audio) messages where he declared his love for Pie and showed his hate for patient confidentiality and doctors.
