This video is in response to what I experienced seeing a recent performance by Ben Model (Undercrank Productions) as he both presented and played the accompaniment to Buster Keaton's silent film The Cameraman (1928).
The night was incredible and I got to experience a film in a way that I had never experienced a film before. The evening reminded me that we can experience films in brand new ways when we diversify how we approach them with new environments and through different mediums.
Undercrank Productions is an indie DVD & Blu-ray production company that has released several rare/lost silent films, including films preserved by the Library of Congress. Undercrank was started by Ben Model who is one of the nation’s leading silent film accompanists, presenters, and historians.
