Throughout this levee improvement project, dump trucks have to haul sand from offsite to the project. To get to the levee, the trucks need to cross a busy roadway that sees hundreds of cars per day. The contractor rented our portable traffic signal system to control traffic and avoid the use of span wire signals or human flaggers.

The sensors on the smart portable traffic signals detect any oncoming dump trucks, stopping mainline traffic and giving the trucks a designated green light. Using portable signals allows the dump trucks to avoid stopping at red lights, decreasing cycle times and expediting project completion.
