Tres wanted his theme to sound playfully evil, so I used a lot more chromaticism and an offbeat rhythm. It’s a huge departure from my usual style, and to be honest, it doesn’t really sound intense enough for a boss theme, but oh well. The last third of the song is reference to the earlygame and has a complete change in mood. I guess it could be a metaphor for how Tres is always the same egocentric person on the inside, or something like that.

SttJ got bashed hard when it came out for many reasons, not the least of which was because its music sucked.
Somehow, I’ve managed to find myself as the composer for SttJ, so now I’m slowly working to “fix Sparen’s mistakes” and replace its OST.
I managed to finish 5 songs in time for the first update.

Upon being told to make a slow and solemn theme, my mind immediately went
to Len’en. Apparently that just means dropping the 3rd from all my chords and
spamming strings and low pianos. I don’t know why, but it gives the song an
“earthy” sound, perfect for solemn, fateful final stage themes.
