Acclaimed conceptual artists Ilya and Emilia Kabakov work at the unsteady borders of installation art and architecture. In an interview with Emilia, she speaks of the artist as a Jack-of-all-trades, able to move between disciplines seamlessly. Similarly, the Kabakovs create drawings, paintings and installations that often resemble cityscapes and building plans and models, honing their utopian visual language at the crossroads of architecture and design.
The pair will present their upcoming exhibition 'In the Making: Ilya & Emilia Kabakov. From Drawing to Installation' curated by Esenija Bannan at the Tchoban Foundation. Museum for Architectural Drawing from October 17th, 2019 - February 23, 2020.
