The 4e Régiment de chasseurs de France was in Canada to experience cold weather training, and Canada delivered! With temperatures dipping down to –30°C, French soldiers honed critical skills, including managing humidity to reduce heat loss during overnight operations.
Alongside 12e Régiment blindé du Canada, the troops trained on Exercise APOLLON NORDIQUE using a variety of snowmobiles, deployed via CH 147F Chinook helicopter, and operated transport trucks in challenging northern conditions.
Through the expertise of the Canadian Armed Forces and realistic tactical exercises, participants strengthened interoperability, refined essential winter warfare skills, and built enduring professional relationships.
This exercise enhanced cooperation with a fellow NATO ally and ensured all participants are better prepared for future multinational operations.
