As part of the website for Excitebike 64, Nintendo implemented a version of the original Excitebike for it that people could play online. In concept, it's similar to how Atari and Hasbro recreated Frogger to coincide with the PS1 game. However, unlike their efforts, Nintendo's is notably sluggish. There is only one race track, and the game runs in a very shoddy framerate.
If you want to play this game, I highly recommend checking out BlueMaxima's Flashpoint. This is a preservation project for all games and animations made in Flash and obsolete Internet plugins, and you would be able to play them immediately and without Internet once they first boot on your computer. I've archived lots of games for it, myself, including this one.
