In this video we demonstrate how to setup and perform the ratio of specific heats experiment via Ruchhardt's method using PASCO equipment.

NOTES:
When tapping the piston head, do so as close to the center of the piston rod as possible. Make sure your pluck/tap is parallel with the length of the rod; any force that is applied orthogonally will cause vibrations that will dampen your oscillation.

Make sure your sample rate is set to 1000 Hz.

Have patience to ensure good data collection.

Periods from peak to peak may differ, so make sure to take the average value.
