Despite thorough vetting of Evolv, Tripp Turbiville, Director of Security and Transportation Services for Amalie Arena, admitted that he was apprehensive on the first day that their Express systems went live. In fact, during their first concert, geared towards classical music lovers, Turbiville recounts how one “would think that we wouldn’t have detected any weapons due to the demographics of our guests, but we found a handgun in an older lady’s purse that night, which really shined the light on our decision.
