A short video summarizing the main idea behind the study conducted by the Advanced Concepts Team of the European Space Agency and the University of Plymouth under the ARIADNA scheme. The Evolutionary Robotics approach is coupled with the Island Model for Global Optimisation; that is, artificial neural network controllers are evolved within the island model. The application is for a Mars Rover Navigation task, previously designed by the University of Plymouth.
