Let a local expert show you their favorite family-run tapas bars (and dishes!) around Seville.

Breakfast in Seville (and in Southern Spain) is quite different than breakfast elsewhere in Spain! Local expert Hayley walks us through the ins-and-outs of ordering breakfast in Seville. The most traditional thing to order is a toasted piece of bread, or tostada, which you can order in two different sizes. From butter and jam to olive oil and cured Spanish ham, there are lots of delicious options for topping your toast. Paired with a warm café con leche and a spot outside on a sunny terrace, there’s no better way to start your morning in Seville!

Breakfast vocabulary:
Tostada: Toast
Media: Smaller, half-sized toast
Entera: Big, full-sized toast
Con mantequilla y mermelada: With butter and jam
Con tomate, aceite y jamón ibérico: With fresh tomato, olive oil and cured Iberian ham
Café con leche: Coffee with milk
